The Area Agency provides access services directly from the Heart of Texas
Council of Governments (HOTCOG) offices. These services provide older persons
and their family members or other caregivers
efficient access to needed services, provide effective screening and
assessment of individual needs, and provide advocacy for the older persons of
our six county region. The Area Agency on Aging of the Heart of Texas
(AAAHOT) administers Benefits Counseling, Care Coordination, Caregiver Support, Caregiver Education and Training,
Caregiver Support Development
and Ombudsman Programs. The Area Agency also
contracts with service providers
throughout the region to provide nutrition
and transportation services to
our older citizens.
