Caregiver Support Development Program

Are you caring for an older or disabled person?
Do you need information about programs or services for seniors?
Are you sometimes overwhelmed with all that needs to be done for your loved one?

An answer of “Yes!” to any of these questions is the focus of the Caregiver Support Development Program of the Area Agency on Aging of the Heart of Texas. Currently in the outreach stage, the program will be working with physicians, social service agencies, churches and health care providers in identifying and referring caregivers who would benefit from information about available resources, as well as care giving training, education and support. Through the outreach process the program will identify the needs of caregivers and with available funding, develop additional programs to meet those needs. Emphasis is being placed on creating new and innovative services for underserved populations and rural areas.

Current services available include:

    •  Caregiver Education and Training
    •  Respite Services
