The Health and Human Services Coordinating
Council (HHSCC) is a voluntary group of citizens appointed by the
HOTCOG Executive Committee and consists of at least one representative
from each county in the HOTCOG planning and services area. It is composed
of persons representing the needs
of the health and human services consumers. The HHSCC
is composed of older persons, minority individuals, persons with disabilities,
caregiver of person with disabilities, advocates for health and human
service provider organizations, advocates for transportation provider
organizations, advocates for supportive services organizations, local
elected officials, the general public and persons with leadership
experience. The HHSCC also has representatives who are asked to serve
(with no voting privilege) because of their special knowledge or experience
in health and human service policies and issues. Persons serving in
this capacity may be from within or outside the HOTCOG service area
and may include representatives from the agencies receiving funds
from or awarding funds to the Heart of Texas Council of Governments.
The HHSCC meets the 4th (fourth)
Wednesday of the month in the Heart of Texas Council of Governments
Board Room, located at 300 Franklin Avenue, Waco, Texas 76701-2244.
